Post your progress for the day 6/9/20

  1. Today I helped some people who had questions regarding some of the lesson material and I also made some headway into Chapter 5 of the Programming FPGAs book. It's a dense chapter with a lot of important modules that can be used in the later chapters so I did a lot of troubleshooting and trying to figure out how things work. Hopefully some of these examples will give people ideas. The big project in the chapter is making a decimal counter using the 4 displays on the board.

  2. Today I tried to read and go through a lot of the book to understand the verilog codes and see how I can create a project from it. I didn't post pictures yet because a lot of the things that I have gone through the book are similar to the videos and logic information already posted here. I also searched for more projects to see what pmods I would like to use. I went through some of the videos of the course on youtube. It has a lot of information.

  3. 6/9/20 - I tried to go through the all the tutorials on the Google Drive, making a few edits here and there to slides I thought needed some additional comments. I was able to get through a lot of Brandon's chapter tutorials but I need some help with a bitstream error on one of them. I also looked for some possible projects using the Pmods, it was actually kind of hard to find some good ones but I found a relatively easy one here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Basys-3-Keyboard-Synthesizer/ . Definitely will do more research today.

  4. I went back and fixed my wire diagram in my project for lesson 2. I finally got the output order the same as what Brandon and Sam got. I wired the gates to the wrong output before. I spent quite a long time reading the book for my potential project and also also watched some tutorial videos about verilog and FPGAs.

  5. I went through the new Chapters 3 and 4, as well as the tutorial slides that are on the drive. I did some research on looking for Pmod projects, but didn't find anything that I understood or were very helpful. I also spent some time watching Youtube videos on Verilog and FPGAs.

  6. I went through the old lessons again without the slides to see how well I'd do, and I also looked at Chapters 3 and 4 in thee Drive. I tried looking for some new projects, but couldn't find anything that was much help. I also watched more YouTube videos again to help me understand everything more.
