I was planning on making a Chapter 9 tutorial after I got the video memory storage working, however I couldn't get it to work at all. I managed to have parts of the flag show up however the resolution I'm using for the Basys clock messes up the image. I tried tweaking the code a bunch of different ways but it just wouldn't work. I also tried with an image using the linked image converter tool to a resolution that's compatible with my code, but only got a blank screen. Today was a trial and error day and unfortunately I didn't get many results from it. I'll do the tutorial for the first two parts of Chapter 9 but I'm not sure if I can do one for how to display the image. I may post my code so people can try it themselves. Chapter 9 is a lot more difficult than the other chapters, but really useful in terms of things we can do with it.
Hey Brandon - This would be a good time to reach out to Joe Kujawski. He's an electrical engineer with lots of experience with FPGAs and he might see the problem. If you post your code and note where you think the problem is, Dr. Hassel and I can take a look. If we can't figure it out, I'll ask Joe to read the blog and maybe he can comment. He's done some video work with FPGAs.
I can also drop off the other board - if it can be used with Vivado. You got it working on that board so maybe by doing it with both, you'll see the differences?
I did chapter 6 but couldn't generate bitstream. I pretty sure that my constraints file is fine. This was probably because of the file that I imported from chapter 5 exercise. I will try to do chapter 5 again because I think I messed it up by duplicated my project folders.
I finished up most of Chapter 7, re-read Chapter 8 and read Chapter 9. I also took a look at the four function calculator, but it was very complicated.
