Post your progress for the day 6/17/20

  1. I did the Chapter 8 exercises although I could get sound to come out without the speaker or resistor/wire. I tried getting the audio amplifier Pmod to work but was unsuccessful. I started looking into that 4 function calculator that Evan posted and set up a block design using both Pmods, I'm going to experiment with the code that was given and see what I can learn.

  2. Haven't received the Pmods yet but I have went through Chapter 5 once more, but this time using only the book. I had to glance at Brandon's slides once or twice but I have a pretty good grasp on how to translate the book over now. I will be working on future chapters and trying to get them to work, maybe attempting a tutorial.

  3. I was looking at the example code for the keypad pmod. I found a post saying that there was a example project that would read from the keypad and display on the 7-segment display but it was for 4x4 keypad. I reran chapter 5 file but somehow I took so long to create the bitstream (more than half an hour) so I'm trying to figure out what was wrong. I started chapter 6's slides too.

  4. I went through the Chapter 6 slides, trying to improve it across the boards, with explanations and correct photos for every step. My goal is to make sure the slides worked first of all, but also that the slides are comprehensible for everyone without directly leading every step. My Pmods also arrived so I began to mess around with the KYPD and the OLED.

  5. I went through chapters 3 and 4 trying to just use the book this time. I also watched some more YouTube videos on FPGA and Verilog, and tried to look for some more activities to do with some of the Pmods.
